About Woodworth Senior Services

Serving seniors in the Rural Municipality of Wallace-Woodworth with compassion and dedication.

Our Story

Woodworth Senior Services was born from the heart of a rural community that recognized a growing need. In the vast, open landscapes of southwestern Manitoba, seniors living in the Rural Municipality of Woodworth faced unique challenges — long distances to medical facilities, limited public transportation, and the risk of social isolation that comes with rural living.

A group of dedicated community members came together with a simple but powerful vision: no senior in Woodworth should feel forgotten, unsupported, or alone. What began as neighbours helping neighbours has grown into an established nonprofit organization that serves as a lifeline for hundreds of seniors across the region.

Today, from our office at 220 Cornwall St in Kenton, our Resource Coordinator and team of devoted volunteers work tirelessly to ensure seniors can age in place with dignity, maintain their independence, and stay meaningfully connected to their community.

Our Resource Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for seniors seeking assistance. Available during office hours (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM), they help connect seniors with the services and support they need — from arranging transportation to coordinating foot care appointments.

Board of Directors

Our volunteer Board of Directors guides the strategic direction of the organization, ensuring we continue to meet the evolving needs of our community's senior population.

Volunteers

The backbone of our organization — our volunteers provide transportation, make friendly visits, assist at social events, and bring warmth and companionship to the seniors we serve.
